This patient had an old crown flare up with pain, and an x-ray clearly showed the tooth had died and had an abscess. They did not want a root canal treatment as they had an autoimmune disease. The tooth was removed safely and allowed to heal. Six months later, a Zirconia implant was placed and left for a further six months to heal and integrate with the jaw. A Zirconia abutment was cemented into the implant, and a ceramic crown was placed for many years of chewing ahead of her.
